Lundie was brought to us with no collar, no microchip – and a devastating degloving injury to her back left leg.

Lundie doesn’t know that tomorrow will change her life.
She doesn’t understand words like “amputation” or “surgery.” She only knows that she’s tired, that she hurts, and that when someone kneels down beside her, she leans in anyway.
At just 1.5 years old, this beautiful German Shepherd mix has already endured trauma no dog should ever face. A devastating injury to her back leg means it cannot be saved. To stop the pain and prevent life-threatening infection, her leg must be amputated.
Lundie’s surgery is scheduled, and the estimated cost is $800.
We are fundraising to cover her life-saving amputation and immediate recovery care so her story can be about resilience — not suffering.
Your gift helps:
- Cover the cost of her surgery
- Provide pain management and post-operative care
- Give Lundie the chance to heal and thrive
If you’re able, please consider making a donation toward her $800 surgical goal. Every gift brings her one step closer to a pain-free future — and the chance to run again on three strong legs.
Lundie is ready for her second chance. 💛🐾
Update on Lundie’s Journey 3/10/2026 💛
Thanks to the incredible support of our community, Lundie was able to undergo her life-saving amputation surgery. But her road to recovery has been more complicated than we originally expected.
While recovering, Lundie experienced complications that required urgent veterinary care. She recently returned to the vet where doctors determined she needed two blood transfusions to help stabilize her and give her body the strength to keep fighting.
In an amazing act of kindness, one of our long-stay shelter residents, Barney, stepped up and became Lundie’s blood donor — helping save her life.
Lundie is now on several medications to manage pain and help regulate her immune system while her body heals. She will continue to need close monitoring and follow-up care in the coming weeks.
Because of these unexpected medical needs, we have had to increase Lundie’s medical fundraising goal to $2,000 to help cover the cost of her transfusions, medications, and continued treatment.
Despite everything she has been through, Lundie continues to show an incredible will to live. She is strong, she is resilient, and she deserves the chance to fully recover.
If you’ve already donated, thank you for being part of Lundie’s story. If you’re able to help again or share her fundraiser, every bit of support helps this brave girl continue healing.
