Animal Shelter Records
As a government contractor, some of our animal shelter records are governed by Arkansas open records laws. Public records as defined by state law, and not made confidential elsewhere in the Arkansas Code, may be posted for electronic access through that government’s website. Most of the business conducted with CASS is not public record including but not limited to volunteering, fostering, donating, purchases at our retail store, and event attendance, sponsorship, and purchases.
Moreover, CASS makes no warranties or guarantees to the accuracy of breed, sex, weight, age, behavior, or any other descriptor outlined in animals at our shelter. The information contained on our website about animals are not necessarily from court records, arrest records, or animal control citations. While we make every effort to be transparent in our acquisition of animals from the City of Cabot, the reason for impoundment by the City of Cabot, Arkansas, may vary from what you see on the website. Information about how an animal came to be in our care that is not available from CASS may be available to you in an open records request from the City of Cabot.
